Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Team Decode: Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi recognises that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore all manuscripts must be free from plagiarised content. Authors are required to use plagiarism detection software to check for content similarity using plagiarism software. The maximum limit for plagiarism is 20%.

Definition:

Plagiarism is the act of intentionally or unintentionally obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or marks for a scientific work, by quoting part or all of the work and/or scientific work of another party that is recognised as his/her scientific work, without properly and adequately acknowledging the source.

General Conditions:

  1. Articles must be original, unpublished, and not in the process of awaiting publication elsewhere. Material taken verbally from other sources needs to be clearly identified so that it differs from the original text.

  2. All authors of the article are responsible for the content of the submitted article as evidenced by signing the Publication Ethics Declaration Form/ Letter Originality Decode: Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi.

  3. Authors are not allowed to submit the same article to other journals. If found during the reviewer process or after publication, action will be taken in accordance with the editorial team policy.

  4. The author checks for plagiarism if the article has been accepted by Editorial Decode: Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi. The author sends the results of the plagiarism check to the editorial via OJS along with the final revised article.

Plagiarism Level:

If plagiarism is identified, then, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the review of the article and will approve action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:

  1. Plagiarising a short sentence from another article without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to amend the text and cite correctly.

  2. Plagiarising a large part of another article without proper citation and not mentioning the source. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in Decode: Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi and the author may be sanctioned not to be allowed publication in Decode: Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi.

If plagiarism is found outside the above rules, the editor of Decode: Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi has the right to impose sanctions according to the editorial team's policy.
