Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of social media (facebook) on the learning success of Class XI students of SMA Negeri 4 Raha Kab. Muna. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive that describes and examines the real state of the research object based on the authentic information collected. There are also research subjects consisting of the principal, 5 teachers and 15 students. Methods of collecting information using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research found that the effect of social media (facebook) on the learning success of class XI students at SMA Negeri 4 Raha Kab. Muna, namely students access Facebook during school hours, this can affect concentration energy and interfere with student learning hours to decrease, so that student learning success also decreases and makes students less social to the surrounding area, causing more freedom of association, lazy to enter class and disturbing eye health. On the other hand, the positive result is that students can get a lot of friends and it is easier to get certain data.
