Abstract

This research is based on the low learning outcomes of the students of class VII C solar system at SMP Negeri 1 Wawotobi caused by the lack of student interest in learning so that students are still passive in teaching and learning activities in class. Students feel that this learning is less interesting because it has not implemented a varied, creative, innovative, and fun learning model in this learning. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying the NHT type cooperative learning model. Data collection was carried out using an observation evaluation test to determine the extent of the activity level of teachers and students in carrying out learning using the NHT type cooperative method. Student learning outcomes in the first cycle reached the percentage of classical completeness 56.25% and increased in the second cycle of classical completeness to 87.5%. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the NHT type cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes in science subjects, the subject of the solar system class VII C of SMP Negeri 1 Wawotobi.
