The Principal's Role in Creating Quality Learning during Covid 19

The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the role of school principals in creating quality learning during the covid 19 period at SMA Muhammadiyah Kendari. The research method used in this research is using a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants or respondents in this study were the principal and 5 teachers and 5 students as supporting informants. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction and data presentation as well as drawing conclusions or verification. Triangulation of data is done through triangulation of sources, methods and also triangulation of theory. The results of the study found that several roles of the Muhammadiyah Kendari Senior High School principal in creating quality learning during the covid 19 pandemic included: 1) the principal directing teachers to use an easy, practical and economical learning platform through classroom, whatsapp group and google meeting, 2) the principal the school provides technical guidance to teachers regarding the implementation of learning during the pandemic through zoom meetings 3) the role of the principal in building intensive communication with teachers and parents of students through watsapp groups and 4) the role of the principal in being a role model for all school members and 5 ) principals in alleviating the economic burden of school residents and parents of students through the assistance of providing data packages. The implementation of the five aspects of the role mentioned above is carried out very well by the principal of SMA Muhammadiyah Kendari.References
