Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of library services at SMP Negeri 5 Kendari, how the reading interest of students in the Junior High School 5 Kendari, and whether there is an effect of library services on students' reading interest in the Junior High School 5 Kendari. The method used in this research is quantitative. The sample in this study amounted to 92 students. The data collection method used a closed questionnaire and documention. The results showed that the description of library services, namely 82.25%, was categorized as good enough, the description of students 'reading interest, namely 63.13%, was categorized as good enough, and there was a significant effect of library services on students' reading interest in SMP Negeri 5 Kendari. From the product moment correlation test, it is known that = 0.462> rtable = 0.205 at the 5% significance level. This shows that the two variables have a correlation. This is evidenced by simple regression analysis. The results of the calculation of simple regression analysis, obtained Freg = 24.467 and Ftable = 3.95. When compared, Freg> Ftable. This is also shown by the simple regression equation Y ̂= 6.460 + 0.689X. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 92 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tertutup dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa deskripsi pelayanan perpustakaan yaitu 82,25% dikategorikan cukup baik, deskripsi minat baca siswa yaitu 63,13% dikategorikan cukup baik, dan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari pelayanan perpustakaan terhadap minat baca siswa di SMP Negeri 5 Kendari. Dari uji korelasi product moment diketahui bahwa = 0,462> = 0,205 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa antara kedua variabel memiliki korelasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil perhitungan analisis regresi sederhana, diperoleh = 24,467 = 3,95. Jika dibandingkan maka > .
