Correction and Reaction

Corrections and Retractions

RELIGI: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes the importance of correcting errors and retracting articles when necessary to ensure the quality and credibility of published research.

1. Corrections

Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in a published article that affect its accuracy, clarity, or completeness but do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions. Such errors may include factual inaccuracies, typographical errors that affect meaning, incorrect author information, or errors in data presentation.

Authors are encouraged to notify the editorial team as soon as they identify an error in their published work. The editorial team will assess the reported error and determine whether a correction is necessary. Approved corrections will be published transparently and linked to the original article to ensure that readers are aware of the changes.

2. Retractions

Retractions may be issued when a published article is found to contain serious problems that undermine the reliability of its findings or violate established publication ethics. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • Significant errors in data, analysis, or research methodology that invalidate the findings or conclusions.

  • Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of another person's work.

  • Fabrication or falsification of research data.

  • Duplicate publication or substantial overlap with previously published work without appropriate justification or disclosure.

  • Unethical research practices or serious violations of research ethics.

  • Manipulation of the peer-review or publication process.

  • Other forms of research or publication misconduct that compromise the integrity of the scholarly record.

The editorial team will investigate concerns fairly and objectively, giving the authors an opportunity to respond where appropriate. Retraction decisions will be based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the issue, rather than solely on the request or preference of any individual party.

3. Retraction Procedure

When retraction is deemed necessary, RELIGI: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam will publish a retraction notice that clearly identifies the affected article and explains the reason for the retraction. The notice will be linked to the original publication, and the original article will remain accessible where possible, clearly marked as retracted to preserve the scholarly record and maintain transparency.

Retraction notices will distinguish between errors, misconduct, and other circumstances that affect the reliability or ethical acceptability of a publication. The journal will avoid removing published articles entirely unless removal is required by legal obligations or other exceptional circumstances.

4. Editorial Responsibility

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial team are responsible for evaluating requests for corrections and retractions and for ensuring that decisions are made consistently, transparently, and in accordance with publication ethics standards.

RELIGI: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam follows recognized principles of publication ethics and best practices, including relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), in handling corrections, retractions, and other post-publication concerns.

Through this policy, the journal aims to protect the integrity of academic publishing, maintain readers' trust, and ensure the reliability of the scholarly record in the field of Islamic Religious Education.
