Abstract

Twenty-first century education demands learning models that integrate cognitive mastery, critical thinking, and spiritual character formation. This article reports two interconnected but distinct studies. Study 1 developed IQRO-Based Learning—an interdisciplinary and multi-methodological model that incorporates inquiry-based learning, collaborative qira’ah, reflective tadabbur, and continuous moral action. Study 2 validated the model’s effectiveness through a Qur’anic translation training using the CORMA Method with 40 participants from the OWOJ (One Week One Juz) community in Bandung. An educational design research approach (ADDIE framework) was employed in Study 1, while Study 2 used a one-group pre-test–post-test quasi-experimental design analyzed with paired t-tests, normalized gain, Kendall’s τ, and path analysis. Results showed the IQRO-Based Learning prototype was rated “highly valid” by experts (CVI = 0.93). Translation scores significantly increased (M_pre = 33.16; M_post = 79.78; t(39) = 14.06; p < .001), with an average n-gain of 0.686. Path analysis identified the affective domain (β = 0.847; p < .001) as the strongest predictor of learning motivation. The findings confirm that IQRO-Based Learning effectively enhances both cognitive competence and spiritual motivation simultaneously. The findings suggest that IQRO-Based Learning offers a robust framework for integrative Islamic education, with significant potential for broader application.
