Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the effectiveness of the application of the principal's managerial competence in SMP Negeri 1 Mowewe. The research method used in this research is using a qualitative descriptive approach. While the informants or respondents in this study were the principal and 8 teachers as supporting informants. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative analysis. The validity of the data is done through triangulation of sources, methods and also triangulation of theory. The results of the study found that the effectiveness of the application of principal managerial competence in SMP Negeri 1 Mowewe was generally effective, namely: the ability of the principal in disseminating the school's vision and mission, the principal's steps in involving stakeholders in school management, the attitude of the principal in providing support for learning and the role of the principal in monitoring the teaching and learning process as well as the ability of the principal to become a facilitator in his leadership runs quite well or effectively
