Pemanfaatan Limbah Kertas Sebagai Media Ajar Tematik Pada Rumah Belajar E-Youth di Kelurahan Anggilowu

Abstract

This community service is conducted under cooperation with E-Youth group at Anggilowu, Kendari, and Southeast Sulawesi. This group is formed to share knowledge and teach children, whom are at 3 - 6 class of elementary school. The target of this group is to support the children’s education without taking fee. However, in running their programs, this group needs a training to make an innovation in teaching and learning material for activating the children’s memory in learning English through recyclable materials. In addition, this community service offers a training to help EYouth group in arranging thematic teaching material as the solution. In this activity, the thematic teaching material is applied by adjusting to the children’s need and using things around the children such as plastic, bottle, unused paper, and so on. Then, these stuffs are used to create teaching materials by combining colour papers and silks. Indeed, through the thematic material from inorganic rubbish, it facilitates the children to love and care their environment and practice in recycling the disposed things as the result of their creativities.
